Lucban Quezon 2011

PLACE: Lucban, Quezon
WHERE: Lucban Quezon Philippines - REGION IV A (Calabarzon)

DATE OF VISIT: May 14 - 15, 2011

The Municipality of Lucban (Filipino: Bayan ng Lucban) is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Quezon, Philippines. Lucban is famous around the world for the annual Pahiyas Festival.

Lucban celebrates the Pahiyas Festival every May 15 in honor of the patron saint of farmers, St. Isidore. This festival showcases a street of houses which are adorned with fruits, vegetables, agricultural products, handicrafts and kiping, a rice-made decoration, which afterwards can be eaten grilled or fried. This serves as a thanksgiving of people in Quezon for a bountiful harvest. The houses are judged and the best one is proclaimed the winner. Every year, tourists roam the municipality to witness the decoration of houses.

It is my first time to sightsee one of the famous festivals here in the Philippines, so I'm so excited. I want to explore and see how fun festival in Lucban is. I was with my ate mabs and merdie. We visit Lucban May 14 so we can stroll ahead. We can see the residents of Lucban so busy in preparing their houses for the festival for the following day. Many people are walking around and taking pictures of the houses. But before anything else we have a taste of Lucban's famous Pansit Habhab.

Albay is a province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region in Luzon. Its capital is Legazpi City and the province borders Camarines Sur to the north and Sorsogon to the south. Also to the northeast is Lagonoy Gulf. Mayon Volcano is the symbol most associated with the province.

Legazpi City, Albay is one of the Bicol Region's top tourist destinations. It is where the Mayon Volcano, one of the Philippines' most famous volcanoes is located. Mayon Volcano is the Philippines' most active volcano and is considered to be the world's most perfectly formed volcano for its symmetrical cone. It is also a convenient embarkation point to other tourist destinations in the region such as the Cagsawa Ruins, the upscale resort of Misibis, Donsol, the site of one of the world's largest annual migration of whale sharks and the white sand beaches of Sorsogon and Catanduanes. The city is served by Legazpi Airport which accommodates Airbus A320, Boeing 737-400, and Boeing 727 and has the Mayon Volcano as its scenic backdrop.

After our CamSur Tour my best buddies (kat & tella) have our Legaspi City side trip. From Villa Caceres in Naga, we are about 2 hours super fast drive :) before we caught the beauty of Legaspi. With its background the Mayon Volcano :)

Camarines Sur 2011

PLACE: Camsur Watersports Complex and Caramaon
WHERE: Camarines Sur Philippines - REGION V Bicol Region

DATE OF VISIT: March 11-13, 2011

Camarines Sur (Filipino:Timog Kamarines) is a province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region in Luzon. Its capital is Pili and the province borders Camarines Norte and Quezon to the north, and Albay to the south. To the east lies the island province of Catanduanes across Maqueda Channel.

Camarines Sur is the largest among the six provinces in the Bicol Region both in terms of population and land area. Its territory encompasses two cities: Naga City, the lone chartered city, is the province's and the region's most progressive city, while Iriga City, a component city, is the center of the Rinconada area.

The Caramoan Peninsula has gained tourism popularity in recent years. After the place has been featured in the news and local television programs, local and foreign travelers started to explore the beaches of the peninsula. Popular tourist destinations are the Caramoan National Park, the Centro, and Gota Beach, and popular activities include diving, swimming, snorkeling and spelunking.

Camsur Watersports Complex is a unique watersports park designed for wakeboarding, wakeskating and waterskiing. For beginner riders to the professional wakeboarders and skiiers from all over the world, CWC offers a 6-point cable ski system, coupled with restaurants, sand bars, spas, pro-shops and grand stands to hold guests. Riders can also enjoy their favorite water sports at night as the park will be equipped with spotlights that allow for it even to be open on evenings. It is located within the Provincial Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur. Here’s CWC website: http://www.camsurwatersportscomplex.com/

For my 2nd time Bicol Tour, it’s in the wonderful place of Camarines Sur. Together with my college berks, we take a plane trip to Naga Airport last March 10, 2011. Yes it’s the time when Japan has the horrible earthquakes and tsunami. We are in the plane while the calamity is happening in Japan. We are already in Naga Airport when we received text messages about what happen.

Good thing our first day will be in CWC. We still had fun at CWC even though we don’t know what will be our destination for the next day because all boat trips are barred because of the warn of tsunami.
